Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 - new model
Lamborghini will present a new version of its Murciélago coupé at Geneva auto show. The new Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 car model name, refers to the engine position - longitudinale posteriore - and its power output of 640bhp (471kW).
The factory quotes a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.4sec and a top speed of more than 320km/h.
The new Murcielago LP640 has new front and rear bumpers, with the tailpipes incorporated in the rear diffuser. A transparent glass engine cover is available as an extra-cost option.
The innovative four-wheel-drive system can apply the power 100% to either end, but usually gives about 70% to the rear. All this power wouldn’t be useful without some aerodynamic upgrades as well, so the front and rear bumpers have been reshaped to funnel air more efficiently, and the exhaust has bee integrated into the rear diffuser.
About 2 000 Murciélagos have been built since the car's debut at the 2001 Frankfurt auto show.
